ZIGGURAT
Stopover,
Volume 4/Issue 15

Why we think it's
romantic: Imagine yourself reclining with the one you love on
plump, jewel-toned cushions in a dim room. Gauzy draperies hang
down from the ceiling lending an air of mystery and just the
slightest suggestion that perhaps you are in a harem.
The Perfect Table: Climb up the tiny winding staircase to the
loft, and there you will find two corners heaped high with
pillows. It's a private world for two, with the languid air of the
Middle East, right in the middle of busy Makati.
Food for the heart: From out of a kitchen so tiny that a chef can
barely turn around comes an array of dishes from countries around
the world touched by the hand of Islam - Mediterranean countries,
the Middle East, India, Pakistan, Ethiopia, and North Africa, to
name a few. Many of the dishes are eaten scooped up with different
flat breads. We suggest you give in to the sensuous thrill of
eating with your hands and feeding each other. Try the Roll Your
Own Souvlaki platter, or Mezze Forte (eight exotic appetizers), or
a variety of kebabs and curries.
